Brian started his career as a Certified Public Accountant with Arthur Andersen and later joined a local firm in Rockville, Maryland. Brian served as a Partner at Bornstein Redler and Lipton PA for over 15 years, concentrating on taxes, planning, and business consulting services for a client base of business owners and professionals. Later, he merged into the national CPA firm, BDO Seidman, LLP, serving as a tax partner and continuing to lead YellowWood’s investment advisory practice.

During the early 90’s, while practicing as a CPA, Brian shifted his focus to financial advisory services. He became certified as a financial planner (CFP®) and founded YellowWood in 1993.

Through his previous experience as a CPA and current experience as a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™, Brian is able to marry the years of being a client's financial advocate and putting the client first, with the skills and knowledge of an investment professional. Brian devotes most of his time helping clients accumulate and protect wealth by helping high net worth clients meet their retirement goals, and organizations meet their investment requirements and fiduciary responsibilities. In addition to being a CFP®, Brian is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIF®), and Personal Financial Specialist (PFS).  He is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Financial Planning Association.

Under Brian’s direction, YellowWood was named as one of the nation’s top wealth managers, by Wealth Manager Magazine in 2006-2011.

Brian graduated from Indiana University with honors in 1978, and has two children. His hobbies include ice hockey and skiing.
