Kara spent the first part of her career as a counselor and child therapist, working in community mental health agencies, the public education system, and for Washington County Children’s Services Board. She also worked as an adjunct faculty member at West Virginia University at Parkersburg in the Social Science Division teaching Psychology and Sociology.
Kara is a graduate of West Virginia University with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. She also attended Ohio University for master’s coursework in Child Development and Counseling. Currently she is enrolled in The College for Financial Planning to receive her certified financial planner designation. Kara resides in Vienna, WV with her two daughters and their two Boston Terriers.
